How it works

NAVTEX is an international maritime radio telex system that operates on a 24-hour watch basis. Coast radio stations transmit NAVTEX messages, with each station allocated time slots during the day. NAVTEX receivers automatically receive the information and either print it or display it on an LCD screen.
